Frances Lorraine Jones Howeth was born on May 15, 1924 in Delphos, Kansas. She was married to William "Bill" Howeth on July 25, 1944 for 39 years before his passing on August 9, 1983. As a young girl in Kansas, Frances grew up on a farm and loved to talk about all she lived through in history. At the age of 14, she lost both of her parents and was left to care for her two younger siblings who were loved and raised as her own. Her love of family and caring for others lead her to a lifelong career in the nursing field as a Licensed Vocational Nurse. Her faith in God gave her great strength to cope with tremendous loss, and because of that faith, it carried her throughout her life. She shared that faith with everyone she came in contact with and led many to Christ. Her faith was a cornerstone in her life that she shared with all those she knew and loved. Frances lived through what is read about in history books today. 1924 was an age of prosperity for the United States post World War with events like the Great Depression, World War II, prohibition, and women's right to vote, which was very important to her. She loved politics and lived through sixteen presidents. The bombing of Pearl Harbor sent her husband to war and upon his return they started their family. She was preceded in death by her parents, Bennie and Faye Bright Jones; siblings, Benton Jones, Virginia Jones Brabb, and Harland Jones; her husband, William Wilson Howeth; daughter, Bonnie Howeth Miller and her husband, Bobby; daughter, Donna Harris; son-in-law, John R. Dean; grandchildren, Kenny and Kevin Miller, Alan Auvenshine, and Eric Mendoza; great-grandchild, Baylee Auvenshine; and grandson-in-law, Bryan Fennell. Survivors include her daughters, Carol Dean-Powell and her husband, Leon of Paris, Sharon Auvenshine and her husband, David of Azle, Reta Mendoza and her husband, Nicholas of Lake Worth; son-in-law, Harlin Harris of Azle; many grandchildren, numerous great-grandchildren, and several great-great-grandchildren.
