George Alan Oakes, age 71, of Fort Worth went to be with his Lord Jesus Christ on Monday, November 11, 2024.

Memorial Service: 10:00 a.m., Saturday, December 7, 2024 at Trinity Baptist Church.

Committal: 2:00 p.m., Monday, December 9, 2024 at Dallas-Fort Worth National Cemetery.

George was born November 4, 1953, in San Leandro California to Florence Vivian Walgren.

George answered the call and served proudly in the U.S. Army as a Military Police Officer. He was not only proud to serve his country but also his Lord God Almighty, George loved the Lord fiercely and showed his love and servitude through the singing of hymns in the church choir, helping with the church security team, spending time daily in bible study, meeting with his men's coffee group and helping those in his community.

He had a love of cars and motorcycles, to those that knew him if he wasn't working on a car, you could find him riding his motorcycle. When he could no longer work on or ride, he enjoyed sharing stories of the cars he owned and worked on, attending car shows, and reading car magazines.

George was preceded in death by his mother, Florence Walgren; his sister, Vivian Marie Eddings; and his brother, George Edwin Oakes.

His survivors include his loving wife, Linda Oakes; sons, George Oakes, Nicolas Luxon; daughter, Monica Luxon; granddaughters, Zoe Luxon, Mya Galey; grandsons, Kyler Rose, Elijah Rose, Tommy Luxon, Jacob Armstrong; and brother, James (Gordan ) Oakes.

George's body may be gone but his spirit is alive in all those that were blessed to have him in their lives and be touched by his loyalty and love.
