Gerald "Jerry" Smith, born on October 20, 1944, in Portsmouth, Ohio, passed away peacefully on March 24, 2025, at his home in Rhome, Texas.

Graveside Service: 10:00 a.m., Saturday, March 29, 2025, at Thurmond-Fairview Cemetery in New Fairview, Texas, 969 Illinois St/FM 407 (postal code 76078).

Jerry proudly served in the U.S. Air Force before embarking on a life filled with passion and dedication. A true outdoorsman at heart, he found joy in golf and fishing, spending countless hours perfecting his swing or casting a line into the water. His love for collecting knives reflected an appreciation for craftsmanship and history. Jerry was also a devoted animal lover, always finding companionship and comfort in the presence of his cats.

Above all else, Jerry cherished family. He was a dedicated family person who took great pride in his loved ones.

He is survived by two daughters, Susan Marshall of Azle, Texas and Kimberly Warfield of Haslet, Texas; nine grandchildren, six great-grandchildren and two sisters from the Midwest.

Jerry was preceded in death by his beloved wife and soulmate of 38 years, Sandra Smith.

Jerry's memory will live on through the many lives he touched. May his legacy bring comfort to those who knew him best.
