Glenda Lewis, a woman of boundless strength, love, and independence, passed away on Friday, July 4, 2025, age 84, entering to the presence of her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.

Born on May 15, 1941, Glenda lived a life defined by hard work, deep devotion to her family, and a spirit that inspired all who knew her. It was fitting that she left this world on Independence Day, a reflection of the freedom and strength she embodied throughout her life and was known as the hardest-working woman many had the privilege of meeting.

Glenda was the rock of her family, and her love was a guiding force for her children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren, as well as her siblings, nieces, nephews, and extended family.

As a mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, great-great-grandmother, sister, aunt, and wife, Glenda's fierce commitment to those she loved was unmatched, her actions speaking louder than words ever could.

Glenda was fortunate to find love twice in her lifetime. On June 1, 1956, she married Joe Lewis, her partner in both life and business. Together, they built a thriving life, raising two daughters and creating successful businesses. Their shared journey was filled with love and partnership until Joe's passing in 1998. Later in life, Glenda found love again and married Billy Paris. Their years together were marked by companionship and mutual care until Billy's passing in 2022. Through both marriages, Glenda's capacity for love and resilience shone brightly, touching every corner of her family's world.

While Glenda held a deep love for Jesus, her faith was personal and unassuming, reflected in the way she lived with kindness and determination. Her life was a testament to independence and strength, and her passing on July 4, 2025, marked her ultimate freedom- moment to rest in eternal peace.

Glenda's legacy lives on in the countless lives she shaped with her love, wisdom, and unwavering presence.

Glenda was preceded in death by her husbands, George W. Lewis and Billy Paris, and her daughter, Carla Greener.

She is survived by her daughter, Paula Reese; six grandchildren, Jennifer Bradley, Holly Reese. Rick Reese and wife, Melanie, Vernon Greener, Jr, Blake Greener and wife, Aleksandra, Lauryn Kitchens and husband, Tommy; numerous great-grandchildren, great-great-grandchildren, nieces, nephew and extended family.

Her absence will be deeply felt, but her spirit endures in the stories, laughter, and love she shared so generously.
