Obituary

Gloria Nelson Crandall passed away Saturday, Dec. 22, 2012 at her home on Lake Worth. A viewing will be held from 5 to 7 p.m. Thursday, at Biggers Funeral Home, 6100 Azle Avenue, Lake Worth, Texas. Interment will be at: 9:15 a.m. Friday at Dallas-Fort Worth National Cemetery. Gloria, daughter of Clayborne and Andria Nelson, was born in Alpine, Arizona on June 27, 1925. The ninth of 11 children, Gloria had four sisters and six brothers. She was married in Las Vegas, Nevada on May 16, 1947 to Fred Maeser Crandall and they were later sealed for "Time and All Eternity" in the LDS St. George Temple on March 15, 1958. They were the proud parents of six children; three sons: Kirk, Danny, and Chet and three daughters: Madelyn, Melodie, and Melinda. The family moved many times with Freds employment. Gloria and Fred spent most of their married life in Albuquerque, New Mexico. Gloria served in many callings as a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints in each area where they lived. They settled in the Fort Worth area in 2007. Gloria was a devoted and caring wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and great-great grandmother with a surviving posterity of 112 family members. Gloria is preceded by one Son and two Grandsons. Loving her family dearly, she was actively involved in their lives, always talking with and providing sage advice to all who came calling. Crocheting and sewing were some of her favorite pastimes. Gloria touched the lives of many and always had a kind word to offer. Gloria is survived by her husband, Fred; 2 sons, Danny and Chet; 3 daughters, Madelyn, Melodie, and Melinda; 34 Grandchildren; 72 Great Grandchildren; and 1 Great-Great Grandchild and still more to follow.
