Obituary

Helen L. Sieja, 93, wife of retired Chief Master Sergeant Eugene F. Sieja, passed away Tuesday, July 30, 2024 at a Fort Worth care center.

Mass of Christian Burial: 10:00 a.m., Monday, August 19, 2024, at St. Thomas The Apostle Catholic Church.

Interment: Greenwood Memorial Park.

Born in Mineral Wells, Texas, August 1, 1930, daughter of Robert H. and Lorena A. Brannan. Helen was a straight A student and she attended Texas Women's College before taking a secretarial position with the Army Air Core in Wichita Falls, Texas. There she met and married Staff Sergeant Eugene F. Sieja of Detroit, Michigan in 1951. Over the next twenty-seven years, the couple were stationed in multiple military installations before retiring to Fort Worth, Texas. Helen spent several years teaching pre-school and held clerical positions as well as volunteering for many organizations including the Red Cross. Helen was a longtime member of St. Thomas the Apostle Catholic Church, where it was her joy to serve teaching Bible study classes for many years.

Helen was also preceded in death by her parents; her husband of 51 years; her infant daughter, Sharon; her brothers, Dr. Robert L. Brannan and Dr. Herbert Brannan.

Helen is survived by her children, Susan Vandyke of Louisville, Kentucky, Stephen Sieja of Fort Worth, Texas, Sandra Sanders and her husband, Dr. Gary Sanders of Fort Worth, Texas, and Dr. Scott Sieja of Fort Worth, Texas; grandchildren, Angela Sieja, Marissa Sieja, Pamela and Tom Tronzano of Richardson, Texas, Cody and Irina Sanders of Fort Worth, Texas, Dr. Casey and Kari Sanders of Fort Worth, Texas, Dr. Jonathan and Lily Van Dyke of Sun Prairie, Wisconsin, Bethany and Tim MacDonald of Indianapolis, Indiana, Sean and Alissa Sieja of Van, Texas, and Chris and Jessika Sieja of Fort Worth, Texas. She is also blessed with seventeen great-grandchildren, numerous nieces and nephews and countless friends.
