Helen Irene Spann, 90, a homemaker and loving mom and grandmother, passed away Wednesday, September 2, 2015. Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Tuesday in Biggers Funeral Chapel. Interment will be in Azleland Memorial Park. Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Monday at Biggers Funeral Home. Helen was born October 9, 1924, in Bridgeport to Leslie and Willie Mae Giles. She had been an Azle resident since 1969 and was a charter member of the First Baptist Church of Lakeside. She married Delma H. Spann on August 3, 1941, in Weatherford and together they shared 60 years of marriage before his death on February 4, 2002. She was preceded in death by her husband; her parents; sisters, Betty Jo Giles and Elwanda Odom; brother, Ronald S. Giles; and a great-grandson, Christopher Nelson. Helen is survived by her children, Jimmy Spann and wife, Roseann, Delma Thomas and husband, Charles, and Kay Taylor and husband, Bennie; seven grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.
