Homerene Brown Schnittger, 85, of White Settlement, Texas, passed away peacefully on Friday, September 12, 2025.

Graveside Service: 1:30 p.m., Tuesday, September 30, 2025, Dallas-Fort Worth National Cemetery in Dallas, Texas, where Homerene will be laid to rest beside her husband, Darwin.

Born on January 31, 1940, in Gainesville, Texas, she lived a life full of love, laughter, and devotion to her family and friends.

As a proud military wife, Homerene embraced service and community, working at the Base Exchange for over 15 years. She was a dedicated member of the VFW Post #8235, American Legion Post #626, and the B-58 Hustler Association, where she formed lifelong friendships. She loved traveling, playing darts, cheering on her Dallas Cowboys from her season ticket seats, and the occasional trip to the casino.

But above all, Homerene's joy was her family. She was present at every milestone - school events, sporting games, graduation, always the loudest cheerleader and the most dependable supporter. Her loved ones will remember her favorite words, "Everything happens for a reason," her unwavering punctuality, and the way she made everyone around her feel special and loved.

Homerene was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 52 years, Darwin Dale Schnittger; her brother Jack Gregory; her sister Evelyn Marie Warwick; and her mother, Eva Miller Womack.

She leaves behind her daughters, Nancy Schnittger-Hazen and Sandra Schnittger Moore, and her son, Ricky Moore. She will also be dearly missed by her grandchildren, Tiffany, April, Cody, Joey, and James; many great-grandchildren, Ella, Lucas, Emma, Riley, Maddux, August, Chloe, Logan, Zoey, Scarlett, Emily, Rocco, and Cooper; and numerous nieces and nephews. To them, she wasn't just a grandmother—she was "Grand-Mommy" and "Gigi," roles she cherished with all her heart.

Her legacy of love, strength, and generosity lives on in the hearts of those who were blessed to know her.
