Hope Hudson Harris, 70, of Fort Worth, Texas, passed away surrounded by friends and family in the early evening of Thursday, November 21, 2024. A beloved mother, wife, aunt, and mentor, Hope's kindness, determination, resilience, and wisdom will be remembered by all whose lives she has influenced over the years.

Service:  10:00 am, Tuesday, December 3, 2024 in Biggers Funeral Chapel.

Committal:  1:00 pm, Tuesday following the service, at Pleasant Grove Cemetery # 3.

Hope was born December 3, 1953, in Fort Worth, the daughter of John Henry Hudson and Leota Denney Hudson and the sister of Mark Hudson. The family would move from Bridgeport to River Oaks early in her life where in time she would graduate from Castleberry High School.

Hope did not immediately attend university but with the encouragement of an admired mentor began to pursue her degree. Before graduating from TCU, she would marry Paul Brockway and become the stepmother to three children, Jimmy, Elizabeth, and Susan, and count each of them as a blessing the rest of her life. She was not expected to be able to bear children of her own so the pregnancy and birth of her son, Wade, while completing her graduate program at UNT came as quite the welcome surprise. Following her divorce, Hope would later marry Ken Harris who would prove to be her devoted husband of 23 years. Upon marrying she became a stepmother to Kevin and an aunt to a host of adoring nieces and nephews.

Hope's professional life centered on her time at the Tarrant County Juvenile Probation Department. Over the course of her 37 year career, spanning the roles of Intern to Deputy Assistant Director, she would lead, develop, and expand local and state programs and initiatives throughout the Department. She took great pride in her work and in the numerous individuals she mentored throughout her career.

Hope is preceded in death by her father, John Henry Hudson; her mother, Leota Hudson Eckard; and her stepfather, John Eckard.

Hope is survived by her husband, Ken Harris; her son, Wade Brockway; her stepson, Kevin Harris; and her brother and sister-in-law, Mark and Ann Hudson; her stepchildren, Jimmy and Sarah Brockway and their son, Jackson, Elizabeth Brockway, and Susan Brockway ; a number of nieces and nephews from the

Hudson, Harris, and DeLuna families, and each of their respective growing families.
