Hoyt Lovelace, 82, passed away Thursday, June 10, 2021 in Fort Worth, Texas. Services: 2:00 p.m., Saturday, July 17, 2021 at Brooks Funeral Home in Canyon, Texas. Interment to follow at Memory Gardens Cemetery. Memorials: The family requests contributions to the following in lieu of flowers: Tarleton State University General Scholarship Fund: Box T0415, Stephenville, TX 76402 or the Diabetes Research Institute: 200 S Park Rd, Suite 100, Hollywood, FL 33021 Hoyt was born March 11, 1939 in Vernon, Texas, to Weaver and Marie Lovelace, who preceded him in death. His wife of 51 years, Lin Lemons Lovelace, also preceded him in death. Hoyt graduated from Knox City High School and took multiple degrees from Tarleton State University. After a full career in education and coaching, he retired from Windham Independent School as Principal. Hoyt found enjoyment in hobbies such as crosswords, old westerns, listening to music and watching sports. He dearly loved spending time with his children and grandchildren. Hoyt and Lin shared many years traveling in their RV throughout the United States, acquiring many wonderful friends along the way. Hoyt gave his all to his wife, children, grandchildren, friends, and to many, many students and athletes throughout his years. Survivors: Hoyt is survived by daughter, Krista Lovelace; daughter, Courtney Lovelace and grandson, Anthony Carroll; son, Rex Lovelace and his wife, Stefani; granddaughters, Alexis and Jordyn; his brother, Beryle Lovelace and his wife, Elouise; along with several nieces, nephews, and cousins.
