She was born April 17, 1943, in Edinburg, Texas, to Rafael and Isidora Estrada. She was raised alongside her brother, Ramon Estrada, and her sister, Ofelia Lopez, forming close family bonds that remained important throughout her life.

Dora was a woman whose life was deeply rooted in her faith, her family, and her church community. She was one of the original members of Holy Trinity Catholic Church, where she faithfully served from its earliest days. For many years, she lovingly ran the church gift shop, welcoming parishioners and visitors alike with warmth, kindness, and a genuine spirit of service.

She worked for over 20 years at St. Anthony's Catholic Books and Gifts, where her love for people and her joy in sharing her Christian faith flourished. Later, she continued with that same welcoming spirit while working at Kay's Donuts. Dora truly enjoyed talking with people, listening to their stories, and sharing her faith with everyone she met.

Dora married her first love, Julian Pena, on May 28, 1961, in Lubbock Texas, beginning a lifelong partnership grounded in love and devotion. Her life revolved around God, the Church, her husband, and her children. She found her greatest joy in caring for her grandchildren and great-grandchildren and cherished the many memories they shared. She often spoke fondly of simple moments—going to church, cleaning the house while listening to music, and cooking for those she loved. She enjoyed reading Spiritual books that would bring her closer to God and prayer.

She is survived by her children, Corinna and her husband, Prudencio Marquez; Rafael Pena and his fiancée, Maria Sayas; Lisa and her husband, Thomas Sims; Ernest and his wife, Lacey Pena; Noe and his wife, Stephani Pena; Hope and her husband, BJ Drennan; and her stepson, Javiar Garcia. She also leaves behind 30 grandchildren, 36 great-grandchildren, and 1 great-great-granddaughter.

Dora was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 62 years, Julian Pena; her son, Mark Pena; her great-granddaughters, Mikaila Michole Pena and Calista Reign Herrera; her parents, Rafael and Isidora Estrada; her brother, Ramon Estrada; and her sister, Ofelia Lopez.

Dora will be remembered for her unwavering faith, her generous heart, and the love she poured into her family and all who knew her.
