Jack Merle Mathis, age 90, passed from this life Saturday, November 29, 2025.

Service: 10:00 a.m., Thursday, December 4, 2025, Biggers Funeral Chapel

Interment: 2:00 p.m., Thursday, following service at Sharp Cemetery, Yantis, Texas.

Visitation: 6:00 – 8:00 p.m., Wednesday, December 3, 2025, Biggers Funeral Home.

Jack was born November 16, 1935, in Quitman, Texas to the late Ruth Mable and Marvin M. Mathis. He served in the Army for three years from 1953 to 1956, then worked at Ben Hogan Golf Equipment Company as a machinist.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Ruth and Marvin Mathis; siblings, Pete Mathis, Skeeter Mathis, Joe Mathis, Glenna Mathis, Stacia Ann Mathis, Jim Mathis, Jerry Mathis, and Mike Mathis; his sons, Anthony Mathis and Jackie Mathis; grandson, Greg Mathis; wives, Floy Dell Mathis and Sally Mathis.

Jack is survived by his son, Terry Mathis and wife, Gayla; daughters, Cindy Hazlewood, Stacia Greenwood and husband, Daniel; grandchildren, Billy, Jeff, Taylor, Jacob, Cole, Dallas, Jay and Cody; thirteen great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren.
