A proud native of Kingsville, Jacquelyn stayed close to her roots to pursue her education, earning a Bachelor of Science degree from Texas A&M University-Kingsville. She dedicated her professional life to helping others, working faithfully as a Texas Works Advisor for the Texas Department of Health and Human Services. She possessed a vibrant spirit and loved to dance, attend live concerts, and unwind by watching her favorite 1990s sitcoms and movies. An exceptional cook, Jacquelyn expressed her love through the meals she prepared, bringing people together around the table.
She is survived by her loving husband, Eric Cortez; her beloved son, Noah Niño-Prieto; her devoted parents, Velma A. Niño and Arturo G. Niño; her sister, Dr. Cecilia A. Niño; her brother, Arturo R. Niño; Victor Chavez, Maddie Sepulveda, and a large, loving extended family of aunts, uncles, and cousins who will miss her dearly.
Jacquelyn was reunited in eternal rest with her maternal grandparents, Ascencion and Jose G. Silguero, Sr.; her paternal grandparents, Emma and Ramon Niño, Sr.; her aunt, Abby Silguero-Garcia; and her cousins, Nevaeh Niño and Javen Quintanilla.
