James Daniel McGinlay, 91, of Fort Worth, Texas, passed away on November 23, 2023. Born on May 19, 1932, in London, Ontario, Canada, James was a beloved father, husband, and pastor.

James had a vibrant personality and was known for his sense of humor. He was a loving father and husband, always bringing joy to those around him. James was also known for his competitive nature and his love for the New York Yankees.

James had an impressive educational background, having attended Bob Jones University and Dallas Theological Seminary.

For 70 years, James dedicated his life to the ministry. He served as a pastor for 54 years, with his final position at First Baptist Lakeside in Fort Worth. Throughout his career, James preached in over 500 churches as an evangelist. Even in his later years, he continued to preach the Word at Legacy Oaks in Azle, Texas until his illness. James was honored with the W.A. Criswell Lifetime Achievement Award for Pastoral Evangelism.

He was preceded in death by his parents, James and Vera; his wife, Dorothy; his brother, Dolan; and his sister, Eleanor.

James is survived by his daughter, Shannon and her husband, Tom; son, Jim and his wife, Lauralee; his sister, Marilyn; along with nieces, Kris Barton and Shawn Barrett; six grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.

James McGinlay will be remembered for his dedication to his faith, his love for his family and his unwavering commitment to spreading the word of God. He will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.
