James William Redwine, 72, went home to be with the Lord, Sunday, March 10, 2019. Service: 11:00 A.M. Monday, March 18, 2019 at Acton United Methodist Church, 3433 Fall Creek Hwy, in Acton. (A viewing will be held from 10:30 to 11:00 a.m. Monday at the church). Visitation: 5:30-7:30 p.m. Sunday, March 17, 2019 at Biggers Funeral Home. Committal Service with Masonic Rites: 3:00 p.m., Monday, March 18, 2019 at Greenwood Memorial Park, 3100 White Settlement Road, Fort Worth. Memorials: In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Pecan Plantation EMS or Acton United Methodist Church. James William Redwine was born August 25, 1946 in Fort Worth. His parents, Charlie Lee Redwine and Norma Louise Redwine lived on Rusk Street in Roanoke, Texas. Charlie worked on various ranches in the area and they lived a rural life. James knew how to work cattle, bale hay, and was a member of FFA in high school, raising various animals to show. He attended Northwest High School and served as class president. He had many lifelong friends that kept in touch. He was a Volunteer Fireman for the Roanoke Fire Department for over twenty years. He also served as a volunteer EMT on the ambulance crew at Roanoke Fire Department. James was a member of the Free Masons, Roanoke Lodge No. 668 A.F. & A.M. for fifty years. He worked for Bell Helicopter as a machinist at Plant 5 for over forty years. He was a member of UAW Local 218 and served as a Union Representative and "Top Shop" for several years. In 1988, he married his wife, Cherry, who also worked at Bell Helicopter. They lived in Fort Worth until 1999 and then moved to Pecan Plantation in August of that year. He retired from Bell Helicopter in December, 2006. He loved living in Pecan Plantation and playing golf five days a week with his friends. He also served on various volunteer committees in Pecan and served on the Pecan EMS Board. James loved life, had many friends, and loved to talk, visit, and tell stories. He loved southern gospel music and attended many concerts, and was a big fan of the quartet groups. We shall remember him in our hearts forever. Survivors: His Wife of 31 years, Cherry Redwine; children, Karen Redwine Myers, Kimberly Cornett and husband, Cameron, Brenda Wood and husband, Ross, Darbi Johnson and husband, Mike, Kelby Hubbard and wife, Leah, Robert Hubbard and wife, Dawnia; fourteen grandchildren, and seven great-grandchildren.
