James Charles Sims Jr., 72, passed peacefully into eternal life Monday, October 27, 2014.
Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Friday at First Baptist Church of Lakeside. Interment will be in Greenwood Memorial Park. Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday at Biggers Funeral Home.

Charles Sims was born February 8, 1942, in Albuquerque, New Mexico, and the family soon moved to South Carolina where he spent his growing-up years. After high school he moved with his family to Fort Worth, where he met and married Anna Mae Stockton on December 12, 1964, and where he worked as a landscape designer and church choir director.
Charles was preceded in death by his wife, Ann Sims; his parents, Jimmy and Mildred Sims; his brothers, Keith Sims and Leon Sims; and a baby daughter, Jean Ann Sims.
He is survived by his sister, Rose Batson and husband, Don Sr.; son, David Sims and wife, Melissa; daughter, Rebecca Sims Dale and husband Scott; grandchildren, Jackson Dale, Walker Sims, Carter Sims, Rachael Sims, Molly Sims, Clara Dale, Caroline Sims and Henry Dale; sisters-in-law, Jane Sims and Rhonda Sims; nephews, Don Batson Jr., Steven Sims, Kevin Sims and Cody Sims; niece, Nichole Sims; and a large extended family.
