James S. Slatick, 69, a retired Air Force master sergeant, passed away Tuesday, March 19, 2013, at his home. A graveside service will be held at 9:30 a.m. Friday in Dallas-Fort Worth National Cemetery. Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday at Biggers Funeral Home. James was born September 11, 1943, in West Mahandy, Pennsylvania, and had been an area resident for over 30 years. He retired on August 31, 1982, after 22 years in the United States Air Force. He was preceded in death by his wife of 44 years, Carolyn Slatick, on February 14, 2013. He is survived by five children, one brother, nine grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
