James Dwayne Stafford passed away peacefully at the age of 90 on Tuesday, January 28, 2025, at the Lodge in Saginaw, Texas. He was born on December 11, 1934, in Carter, Oklahoma.

A Celebration of Life will be held Saturday, February 22, at the Joyce Spindor Community Center in Saginaw from 1:30 – 3:30 pm.

James went by the nickname "JD" at work but was "Dwayne" to his family and friends. He was the middle child of 5 and had 3 sisters and 1 brother. Dwayne was active duty in the Army from May 2,1957 through April 20, 1959, and honorably discharged on April 30, 1963. Dwayne went to work at General Dynamics, now Lockheed Martin, proudly building F-111 planes.

He enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren and liked to teach them how to fix things, usually with WD40 or duct tape! Dwayne called himself "an old Oklahoma dirt farmer" and loved having a garden in the back yard of the home he and his family built together. Some say he should have owned stock in Miracle Grow because some of his vegetables were abnormally large.

Dwayne was preceded in death by his wife of 45 years, Sarah Elizabeth; father, Dave; mother, Ruby; sisters, Lottie and Lou Ella; brother, Jerry; and 3 brother- in-laws, Randall, John and Doyce. Our prayer is that he celebrated with his Bride in Heaven as January 28 was their wedding anniversary.

Dwayne is survived by his 4 children, Rebecca and husband, Steve of Wichita, Kansas, Tammy and husband, Dennis of San Antonio, Texas, Jerry and wife, Kirston of Fort Worth, Texas and James Jr. of Fort Worth, Texas; 9 grandchildren, Kandace, Ryan, Mykah, Benjamin, Katelyn, Jacob, Jaron, Rachel, James, their spouses and 9 great-grandchildren; sister, Colleen and numerous nieces and nephews.
