Obituary

Jay Tims, age 66, of Azle, Texas passed away August 13, 2025, at Texas Health Harris Methodist Hospital.

Memorial Service: 6:00 PM Tuesday, August 19, 2025 in Biggers Funeral Chapel.

Visitation: The family will receive friends from 4 to 6 p.m. Tuesday, August 19, 2025 just prior to the service at Biggers Funeral Home.

Committal:  11:00 am, Saturday, September 20, 2025 at Riverview Cemetery in Louisiana, Missouri. Lunch will be

provided at the Clark's Family home after the graveside service.

Memorials: In lieu of flowers, the family has asked for donations to be made to the Community Link in Saginaw or Meals on Wheels Fort Worth.

Jay was born October 28, 1958.

He loved life, his family, and friends. He loved to cook, travel, and spending time enjoying the lake. Jay attended Fort Worth Christian and Abilene Christian University. He worked for 20 years alongside his family at Dexide, Inc. where he started in sales, moved to marketing, and advanced to become Chief Operating Officer before the company was sold in 1999.

His love for cars took him down a completely different path, and in 2004, Jay and his wife, Janice, opened 2J's Automotive, running the business for 15 years. In 2010, they were recognized as Small Business of the Year by the Saginaw Chamber of Commerce. In 2011, 2J's was awarded the Better Business Bureau (BBB) Integrity Award Winner for Marketplace Ethics. They sold 2J's in 2019.

He was preceded in death by his grandfather, Rueban Knight; grandmother, Maxine Knight; grandfather, Lloyd Tims, and grandmother, Edna Tims.

Jay is survived by his wife of 36 years, Janice Clark Tims; children, Bailey Tims, Caden Tims, and Allie Farrell and Sean; his parents, Jerry and DiAnne Tims; his sister, Tracy Kile and Kevin; his grandchildren, Rhett Tims and Vivienne Tims.

"What we are is God's gift to us. What we become is our gift to God." Jay was a gift to all who loved and knew him. He will be missed.
