Jeffrey John Latimer passed away on October 21, 2023 at the age of 53 in Fort Worth, Texas.   Jeff was born on April 3, 1970 in Bethesda, Maryland and moved to California as a toddler.  Growing up in San Diego, he attended Dailard Elementary, Pershing Jr. High, and Patrick Henry High School in the San Carlos area, graduating in 1989.

He began his first career as an EMT paramedic the day after his high school graduation, after spending countless months and hours gaining experience as a volunteer in that field during the latter part of his high school year, which included time working in Tijuana, Mexico.   After six years working in the medical transport field, Jeff moved to Phoenix, Arizona to obtain an education in electronics at DeVry University.

Between 1997 and 2000, Jeff worked as a satellite technician, taking him across America to various locations.  Later in life, his memory would serve him well while traveling with his wife and son as he would point out random satellite dishes on various restaurants, hotels, businesses, and gas stations and proudly proclaim "I installed that" (truly quite remarkable!).

Upon moving back to San Diego, he went back to work as an EMT for another year as well as in the field of electronics while earning his Master of Communications Technology certification through the National Radio Examiners and Federal Communications Commission on July 24, 2002.  One month later, he would take his future bride on their first date.

Jeff began his second career as a broadcast engineer in March of 2003 working for the popular independent television news station KUSI-TV.  That same year he married the love of his life, Marsi, on September 14th.

After working nearly a decade at KUSI, Jeff got hired as a broadcast engineer and facilities manager for XETV-6 (CW affiliate) lasting until March of 2017 when the television station shut down their operations.  He would go onto work for KFMB (CBS affiliate) temporarily to help set up the CW once again, before getting hired as a broadcast engineer for One America News Network (OANN) in 2018 where he would remain until accepting a broadcast engineer position for The Victory Channel in November of 2021, causing him to move to Fort Worth, Texas.

His hobbies over the years included fishing, playing bass guitar in bands including his church, being a Boy Scout Leader for his son's troops, and Ham Radio (Licensed Operator KK6LBK), and spending quality time with his family and friends.   He was known for having a good sense of humor and loved his wife and children deeply.

Jeff is survived by his wife of 20 years, Marsi Gail Latimer; their son, Dallas James Latimer; two sisters, Lorri Haydon and Michelle Latimer; his stepmother, Diana Latimer; stepsister, Kerry Watson Koenig; his Aunt Virginia Latimer; and cousins, Jason Latimer, Melanie Tellers, and Charlyene Latimer; amongst other extended family members.

He was preceded in death by his father, Rodney John Latimer; mother, Marie Ann Butler; Uncle Jeffrey Scott Latimer; stepbrother, Andrew Watson; and infant daughter, Alexis Michelle Latimer.

His remains will be scattered at sea from Catalina Island, California, as per his dying wishes. May he rest in eternal peace, safe in God's loving arms.
