Jernelda "Nelda" May Cooper, age 87, passed away peacefully February 2, 2024, she was born May 26, 1936, in Amherst, Texas to Aurthur and Neoma Ford. She married the love of her life, Charles J. Cooper, February 14, 1969, who preceded her in death in 2000.

Memorial Service: 1:00 p.m., Friday, March 8, 2024 at Biggers Funeral Chapel.

Inurnment: 3:00 p.m., Greenwood Memorial Park, Fort Worth, Texas

Nelda loved life, at age 28 she and her dear friend Clara Gayle packed their bags and moved to California where she met and married her love, Charles "Chuck" Cooper. She and Chuck enjoyed playing golf, dancing, and travelling.

Nelda was a caring and engaging grandmother who spent countless hours indulging her young granddaughters by playing long games of "store" and "salon" with Monopoly money all over the living room. Granpa Chuck and Grandma Nelda always spoiled their grandchildren with M&Ms, ice cream and popcorn balls on special occasions.

Nelda worked as a Bookkeeper for Robinson and Cooper Insurance Agency for over 40 years. She believed in doing life her way. Nelda was the vision of Class and Kindness, always immaculately dressed, independent-minded, and poised, she served as a role model for her grandchildren.

Nelda is survived by her sister, Billie Ledbetter; sister-in-law, Diane Ford; stepson, Roger Cooper and wife, Kathy; stepdaughter, Linda Tiger; grandchildren, Kelly Cooper husband, Jude, Lisa Cooper husband, Hector, Heather Schultz husband, David; nephew and nieces, Lynn Ledbetter wife, Becky, Talita Chase partner, Paul, D'Renda Cummings husband, Bill, Beverly Elphick husband, Ray, Linda Travis husband, Boyd, Joe Huff; many great-grandchildren and friends, all of which she loved and touched deeply.
