Jimmy Olen Tidwell, age 86, of Arlington, Texas passed away at Arlington Memorial Hospital on Thursday, December 5, 2024.

Service: 10:00 am, Wednesday, December 11, 2024, in Biggers Funeral Chapel

Committal: 12:30 pm, following service at Justin Cemetery, Justin, Texas.

Jimmy was born at home in Justin, Texas on October 15, 1938. He was raised in Justin, attending school in the Northwest school district, graduating in 1957 from Northwest High School. Upon graduation from Northwest, he enrolled in Denton at North Texas State College (NTSU) graduating with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Industrial Engineering. Jimmy began his career in Saginaw at Boswell High School teaching Industrial Arts. He continued his engineering teaching at Arlington State College (UTA) in Arlington before securing an engineering position at Bell Helicopter in Hurst where he would remain for the next 60 years as Project Engineer until his retirement.

His interests included home gardening, spending time with family, sailing, skiing, carpentry, mechanics, and working on antique tractors. It was often said that there was nothing Jim couldn't fix.

Jimmy is survived by his two daughters, Karol Tidwell Holloway of Glen Rose, Texas and Pamela Tidwell Benjamin (Raphiel) of San Antonio, Texas; two granddaughters, Whitney Holloway Howlett (Mark) of Arlington, Texas and Chloe Benjamin Ellinger (Bryce) of Frost, Minnesota; his dear companion of 21 years, Becky Autry of Saginaw, Texas; former wife, Janice Lewis of Glen Rose, Texas; and numerous nieces and nephews.
