J.M. "Mike" Atkins, 66, passed away Wednesday, February 27, 2013, in Fort Worth. A memorial service will begin at 4:30 p.m. Sunday, March 10, in Biggers Funeral Chapel. Memorial gifts may be made to Alzheimers Association of North Central Texas, 2620 West Freeway, Suite 100, Fort Worth, Texas 76102. Mr. Atkins was born January 8, 1947, in Fort Worth to George D. and Dortha Bilyeu Atkins. He was preceded in death by his parents and beloved brother, Doug Atkins. He is survived by his wife, Melva Gilman "Jackie" Atkins; his daughter, Nancy Cates; stepdaughters, Marisol Pelletier and Melba Gilman; stepson, Antonio Gilman; three sisters; two brothers; six grandchildren; and a number of nieces and nephews.
