Joe Edward Tamez Sr., a retired United States Air Force master sergeant, passed away suddenly Sunday, November 29, 2015, in Bedford. A graveside service with military honors will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday in Dallas-Fort Worth National Cemetery in Dallas. The family will receive friends beginning at 3 p.m. Wednesday, with recitation of the holy rosary at 7 p.m., at Biggers Funeral Home. Joe was born in Corpus Christi. He served honorably in the United States Air Force for 29 years. His service included two tours in Vietnam and supported Operation Desert Storm. He is survived by his wife, Marisol Tamez; son, Joe Tamez Jr. and wife, Gina; daughters, Jenny Green and husband, Darren, Anna Tamez, and Vanessa Cartwright and husband, Jacob; siblings, Belinda Luddeke, Margaret Salas, Michelle Rosas and Michael Aranda; and grandchildren, Joey, Sydney, Josh, Brittney, Joseph, Elora, Jayden, Sal and Devaney.
