Joel Lynn Patterson, 67, passed away Saturday, May 18, 2018. Memorial Service: 3 p.m. Thursday in the chapel of Biggers Funeral Home. Joel was born Feb 23, 1951 in Rock Hill, SC to the late John and Muriel Patterson. He grew up in Rock Hill and graduated from University of South Carolina. Joel worked for Shaw Industries his entire career. Joel and Patti raised two wonderful children and Joel got to spend a lot of time with his three grandchildren. He loved the Carolina Gamecocks, traveling in his RV with his wife to Santa Fe, Gulf Shores, and New Orleans, running and biking, playing tricks on people, listening and dancing to Carolina beach music, hanging out on his boat, his dog Dixie, finding the perfect chili dog. Joel is preceded in death by his parents; and nephew, Charlie Patterson. Survived by: Wife of 44 years, Patti Patterson; daughter, Kelly Wyatt and her husband, Robert; son, John Patterson and his wife, Alexis; grandchildren, Madison, Jackson, and Memphis; sister, Joann Vereen and her husband, Carl; brothers, Jim Patterson and his wife, Janet and Jerry Patterson and his wife, Cheryl; niece, Jessica Beier; nephews, Cass Whitehead, James Patterson, Chris Patterson, Jarrett Patterson, Blake Patterson; and numerous friends and colleagues.
