Jon Melvin Schwake of Fort Worth, Texas, 62, passed away at home surrounded by his family on Sunday, August 20, 2017. Memorial Service: 1:00 p.m., Saturday, September 2, 2017, in Biggers Funeral Home Chapel in Lake Worth, Texas. Jon was born in Sulphur, Oklahoma on May 5, 1955 to James Melvin and Dorris Jean (Whitwill) Schwake. Jon grew up in Sulphur and graduated from Sulphur High School. He was married to Len Smotherman Schwake on May 23,1980. He earned his BS Nursing degree from Texas Woman's University in Denton, Texas. Jon was a US Air Force/US Public Health Uniformed Services nurse for almost 20 years. Jon was known for his incredible sense of adventure and his love for sailing. He was preceded in death by his parents Melvin and Dorris Schwake. He is survived by his wife, Len Schwake; his children, Dianna Schwake and Jaclyn Schwake; two brothers, Charlie Schwake and David Schwake; and two sisters, Nancy Huffman and Mary Howard.
