Joni Lee Holland passed away on July 29, 2026 in Denton, Texas after a lengthy illness.

Service: 11 a.m. Friday, August 7, 2026 in Biggers Funeral Home Chapel.

Visitation: The family will receive friends from 10 am until service time on Friday, August 7, 2026 at Biggers Funeral Home.

A private family burial service will follow.

Memorials: In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations to the charity of their choice.

Joni was born on April 29, 1957 in Kilgore, Texas. She spent her childhood and teen years in Winnsboro, Venice Louisiana, and Bellaire, Texas. Her love of dolls and especially Barbie began at an early age and continued until the time of her death. While growing up, Joni loved spending time at her grandparent’s farm in Kilgore riding horses, playing with her grandfather’s bird dogs, and enjoying snow cones and a Miss Barbie’s burger.

After graduating from Bellaire High School where she was active in Student Council and the Bellaire Bells, she attended Stephen F. State University studying business administration. It was in Nacogdoches, where she met the love of her life.

Joni and Don married on August 20,1977 and remained married until the time of his death. The couple had one son, Jon Wesley, who became the center of their lives. Jon’s love of sports, led Joni and Don into opening JD Collectibles in Azle, which specialized in baseball cards and sports memorabilia, which over the years transformed into her doll business.

Joni’s love of Barbie led to her involvement at the city, state, and national levels. She was an annual attendee of the National Barbie Dolls Collectors Convention from 2007 to 2023. Through the years, she served in a variety of capacities by garnering individual and corporate sponsorships, coordinating sales rooms, and heading both the live and silent auctions. She was a member of several local and state doll clubs where she served as President, Vice President, and Voting Representative in Club 1959, aka “The Barbie Doll Club of Dallas”. Joni began her own regional conference and sales room in the DFW Metroplex which lasted for a decade, ending in 2024.

Joni’s professional career involved working as a bookkeeper and she eventually served as an Officer Manager for Mayberry and Associates Dental Firm for close to 30 years.

Besides spending time with her family, Joni was passionate about her canine family members, country music, Elvis, black and white movies on AMC, and the occasional road trip to Winstar, Shreveport, or Tunica, despite the lecture and stern looks she received from her brother.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Kenneth Don Holland; son, Jon Wesley Holland; her mother, Jo Nelwyn Tims Voyles; brother, Cecil Reagan Voyles, and her fur babies, Tiffany, Ryan, and Waylon.

Survivors: Joni is survived by her grandson, Parker Holland of Indianapolis, IN and his partner, Sarah Hess; her brother, Kyle Voyles of Denton, Texas; sister-in-law, Kathy Garner Holland of Azle; step-mother, Linda Voyles of Ashtabula, Ohio; numerous nephews, nieces, cousins, a close circle of friends, and her beloved Chihuahua, Lily.
