Juan Salgado, age 24, passed away Monday, December 15, 2025, in Fort Worth, Texas. He was born August 30, 2001, in Odessa, Texas.
From an early age, Juan began his Christian walk, joining a church in Odessa in 2003, and he was baptized in 2011. In December 2012, Juan moved to Fort Worth, where he began a new chapter in his life. There, he pursued one of his greatest passions—football—while attending North Side High School, where he developed his athletic skills and formed some of his closest and lifelong friendships. He graduated in May 2019.
With great determination, effort, and intelligence, Juan continued his education at Tarleton State University, earning a Bachelor of Science in Wildlife, Sustainability, and Ecosystem Sciences. During his time at Tarleton, he joined the rugby team, becoming a strong leader and eventually being named team captain. He graduated on May 10, 2024.
After graduation, Juan returned to Fort Worth to continue creating meaningful memories with his family. He remained dedicated to rugby, training with the Dallas Jackals Clinic with the goal of playing professionally and was also a member of the Fort Worth Rugby Club.
Juan began his professional career with Sempco Surveying and remained active in his faith as a devoted member of his church in Fort Worth, where he shared fellowship and spiritual renewal through home meetings centered on the Word of God. In his free time, Juan developed a love for fishing, which he greatly enjoyed.
Juan also shared a loving and meaningful relationship with his girlfriend, Alexa Cruz, whose companionship, support, and love were an important part of his life.
Juan Salgado is survived by his parents, Aide and Leopoldo Vasquez; his siblings, Christian Vasquez, Denise Vasquez, and Josué Salgado; his grandparents, Manuel Salgado, Olivia Salgado, Pedro Cruz Arevalo, and Leopoldo Vasquez.
Juan Salgado will be remembered for his faith, leadership, determination, and the strong bonds of friendship he built throughout his life. His legacy will live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved him.
