Born in Zacatecas, Mexico, in 1942, she was the daughter of Pedro Castillo and Antonia Moreno. She had 12 siblings, of whom she was the second born.
She was married for 63 years to her husband, Bonifacio. Juana was a strong, hardworking, and courageous woman who always faced life with strength and integrity. She was a great example of honor, wisdom, and strength, always serving as a foundational, generous, and strong-willed presence. There was no doubt she would give everything for others and help anyone she could. Because of her, the family stayed united, and we are now left with beautiful memories of those times and shared moments that we will always remember with fondness.
Juana always enjoyed the simple things in life, especially sharing delicious food prepared by her own hands, sharing stories and memories, anything that brought laughter—and above all, sharing family moments with her loved ones. Those who knew her will remember her joy, her smile, her energy, and her adventurous spirit. All of her grandchildren will always remember how much she loved caring for each one of them and keeping them as close as she could. She was a strong and dedicated mother, and she was such a loving grandmother who always did everything she could to make her grandchildren happy.
Everyone who had the pleasure and honor of knowing her will also remember the delicious dishes she prepared with so much love, which always served to gather the entire family. Her way of being, her teachings, and, above all, the love she left to her family in her own way, will remain in everyone's heart.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Pedro Castillo and Antonia Moreno; four of her siblings; a granddaughter; and her beloved husband, Bonifacio Rodríguez.
She is survived by eight siblings; her nine children; 20 grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren; as well as many relatives and friends who will always remember her with great affection and love.
