Katherine Marie Detrick passed from this life on Tuesday, December 30, 2025.

Service: 10:00 a.m., Saturday, January 10, 2026, at Biggers Funeral Chapel.

Interment will follow at Newsom Cemetery.

Visitation: 6:00 to 8:00 p.m., Friday, January 9, 2026, at Biggers Funeral Home.

Born July 28, 1949, in Fort Worth, Texas, she was the daughter of William Shields, Jr. and Mary Katherine Elliott.

Katherine dedicated much of her life working in law enforcement, where she was a dispatcher for Azle and Weatherford, Parker County.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Walter Detrick; and her daughter, Robin Morrison.

Katherine is survived by her daughter, Jennifer Detrick; her granddaughter, Jessika Detrick; and her brother, Bill Shields. She cherished her family deeply and found great joy in their accomplishments, laughter, and love.

Katherine will be remembered for her strength, compassion, and the steadfast devotion she showed to those she loved. Her legacy lives on in the hearts of her family and all who were fortunate enough to know her.
