Kevin Thornton Jr., 33, a police officer with the Dallas-Fort Worth Airport, went home to be with the Lord on Monday, February 17, 2014. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday at Bethesda Community Church with Pastor Thomas Gross Sr. and Pastor J. Daniel Smith officiating. Entombment will be in Greenwood Mausoleum. Visitation will be from 10 to 11 a.m. Saturday at Bethesda Community Church prior to the service. Kevin was born April 5, 1980, in New Orleans, Louisiana, to Kevin Sr. and Zonthia Thornton Sr. Kevin honorably served four years in the United States Marine Corps. He is survived by his wife, Courtney Thornton; children, Kevin Thornton III, Calaia Thornton, Crystal Thornton, Caris Thornton and Kaileb Thornton; parents, Kevin Sr. and Zonthia Thornton; sisters, Kennisha Hill and Keyana Joseph; brother, Korey Thornton; numerous other extended family members; and many friends.
