SMITH, Larry Jack of Saginaw, Texas, age 89, went home to be with our Lord and Savior on August 22, 2023.

Funeral Service: 10:00 a.m. Thursday, August 31, 2023 at Biggers Funeral Home, Lake Worth, TX.

Interment: 2:30 p.m. August 31, at DFW National Cemetery.

Larry was born in Williamston, SC on March 26, 1934 and married Coral Dawn Potter on October 9, 1970. The family moved from Abilene, Dyess Air Force Base, to Saginaw, TX in 1975. Larry was a proud member of Metropolitan Baptist Church and served wherever needed. He retired from the United States Air Force in 1975 as Master Sergeant working on the flight line as an airplane mechanic. In Fort Worth, he worked for Western Company of North America and Richardson Aviation (retired), both located at Meacham Field. Larry was a member of the Moslah Shrine Temple and supported the Shriners Hospitals charity. He adored his wife, Coral, and struggled after losing her to cancer in 2017.

Larry was preceded in death by his wife, Coral Dawn; his mother, Hazel V. Burrell; and his brother, Bobby J. Smith; brother-in-law, Earl Ellenberg; son-in-law, Charles Klanika; grandson, Christopher (1991); stepchildren, Rena (2019) and Jim (2001).

He is survived by his brother, William R. Smith and sister, Joyce Ann Ellenberg; sons, Jack and Judy,  John LeRoy, Tim; daughters, Betty J. Klanika, Lisa J. and Wayne; Stepchildren, Rita, John and Barbara; grandchildren, Jason, Terrie, Breanna, Tyler, Travis, Cody, Maddy, Lisa, Joey, Paul, Ryan, Jessie; and many more grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
