Leila Clarine Jones passed away Wednesday, November 11, 2020. Graveside service: 10 a.m. Friday at Dallas-Fort Worth National Cemetery. Leila was born on March 17, 1934 to the late Marie and John Jones in Richmond, Kentucky. Her parents passed away early in life, so she was raised by a maiden aunt, Mattie Belle Jones. Leila met Louis Johnson in 1949, after a long courtship they married February 6, 1953. They lived in Saint Petersburg, Florida where they raised four children, sons, Byron and Karl; and daughters, Brenda and Karen. Leila was a stay at home mom and was active in Boy Scouts, Girl Scouts, PTA, and her church. Her hobbies included sewing and reading. The family moved to Texas in 1981 to be close to their sons who were serving in the Armed Forces. Leila was preceded in death by her parents; brothers, John Lee Jones, Jessie Milton Jones, and Karl Wolfe Jones; aunt, Mattie Belle Jones; and husband, Louis Sension Johnson. She is survived by Sons, Byron and Karl Johnson; daughters,Brenda Johnson and Karen Goar; grandchildren, Heath, Nathan and Keith Johnson and Katy Vita & Faith Goar; and great-grandchildren, Bryce and Karli Johnson, Evelyn and Amelia Johnson, and Marissa and Andrew Vita.
