Obituary

Lester Ray Boyer, age 86, passed away peacefully on Sunday, May 4, 2025, in Springtown, Texas.

Visitation: 6:00 – 8:00 p.m., Friday, May 9, 2025 at Biggers Funeral Home, 6100 Azle Avenue, Lake Worth, Texas 76135.

Ray was born on July 17, 1938, to Noel and Nora Boyer in Wetumka, Oklahoma. He lived a life rich in laughter, music, and love.

Ray worked a combined 45 years for the railroad, State of Texas RR Commission and Federal Railroad Administrations as an inspector. He took pride in his work, ensuring the safety and integrity of the tracks that connected communities. When he wasn't working, he found joy in playing the mandolin in a few bluegrass bands, hitting the golf course, and testing his luck at the casino. Most of all, he treasured the time spent with his family, always greeting them with a warm smile. His frugal nature was legendary, yet his generosity of spirit was never in doubt. He also enjoyed working outside.

Ray was preceded in death by his parents, Noel and Nora Boyer; his beloved wife, Nancy; his children, Ray Jr., Susan, and Kenny; his granddaughter, Caty; his brother, Earl; and his sister, Estner.

He leaves behind a legacy of love and laughter, survived by his devoted daughter, Binky Boyer; nine grandchildren, Brandon, Chad, Natasha, Cade, Preston, Brooke, Bailey, Payton, and Trinton; fourteen great-grandchildren, and three great-great-grandchildren.

His presence will be dearly missed but forever cherished in the hearts of those who loved him.

Ray's life was a testament to hard work, resilience, and joy. His family and friends will continue to honor his memories with stories, music, and the unbreakable bonds he forged throughout his lifetime.

Rest peacefully, Ray. Your song will play on in our hearts.
