Obituary

In Loving Memory of Linda Darnell Hopkins

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our beloved Linda Darnell Hopkins, a cherished wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and great-great-grandmother.

Graveside Service: 10:00 a.m., Friday, October 23, 2026, West Bridgeport Cemetery, Bridgeport, Texas 76246.

Linda was strong-willed, stubborn, and opinionated, and she was never afraid to speak her mind. She knew what she liked, stood firmly by what she believed, and lived life in her own way. Those who knew Linda knew that she had a personality all her own and was truly one of a kind.

Linda loved the things that brought her joy. She enjoyed shopping and surrounding herself with pretty little things. She also loved watching scary movies and westerns. Above all, Linda loved her family, and the memories she created with them will be treasured forever.

One of the most meaningful parts of Linda’s life was the love she shared with her beloved husband, Edward Lewis Hopkins, who preceded her in death. Their bond was an important part of her story and will always hold a special place in the hearts of their family. Though they are both gone, the love they shared will never be forgotten.

She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Edward Lewis Hopkins; her daughter, Patricia Kim McBride; and her son-in-law, Harvey McBride.

Linda is survived by her son, Edward Wayne Hopkins, affectionately known to everyone as “Bubba”; a beloved brother, a beloved sister, and several nieces, whom she loved very much; her legacy continues through her grandchildren, Jeremy Wayne Hopkins, Ludy Lynn Hopkins, and Angela Johnson; her great-grandchildren, Tristin Lee Morgan, Summer Hopkins, Bair Hopkins, and Joseph Johnson; and her great-great-grandchild, Briar Lane Morgan.

Linda will be remembered for her strong spirit, her opinions, her love of shopping and pretty things, and, most of all, the love she held for her family. Her life was filled with cherished memories and family bonds that will continue through the generations.

Although saying goodbye is never easy, Linda’s memory will live on in the hearts of all who loved her.

Rest peacefully, Linda. May you be reunited with your beloved Edward and may the love you shared continue to shine through the family you built together.

You will always be loved, forever missed, and never forgotten.
