Lionel Bland, 65, passed away May 27, 2019 in Fort Worth after a battle with cancer. Service 1:00 P.M., Monday, June 3, 2019 at High Ridge Church, 10100 Rolling Hills Dr.in Ft. Worth. Visitation 4:00 P.M. - 6:00 P.M. at Biggers Funeral Home. Interment to follow service on Monday at Bear Creek Cemetery. For those attending the services, the family requests that you wear Hawaiian shirt or something blue or green in Lionel's honor Lionel lived a full life raising a close family. He was a devoted follower of Christ and led his family as such, always a loving husband and father. Lionel served for eight years in the National Guard while starting his family in Missouri. After thirty years of dedication to the City of Fort Worth Water Department, he retired and went to work on his Doctorate in Ministry with emphasis in Biblical Counseling. He loved spending time with his family and seven grandchildren. His spare time was spent working in the garden and tending to his land. Lionel was preceded in death by his parents and his wife of thirty years, Sherry Darnell Bland. He is survived by his wife of sixteen years Lori Bland, son Troy Bland, and daughter, April Karr and her husband, Jared Karr; seven grandchildren; brother Leland Bland, and many sister/brothers-in-law, and nieces and nephews.
