Obituary

Lois Smith, 85, passed away on Friday, March 4, 2022. Visitation: 6 to 8 pm Sunday, March 13, 2022 with the recitation of the Rosary at 6:30 pm at Biggers Funeral Home, 6100 Azle Ave, Fort Worth, TX 76135. Mass of Christian Burial: 10 am Monday, March 14, 2022 at St. Thomas the Apostle Catholic Church, 5953 Bowman Roberts Rd, Fort Worth, TX 76179. Interment: Azleland Memorial Park, 850 N Cardinal Rd, Azle, TX 76020. Due to Covid there will be no celebration of life or dinner following the service. Memorials: In Lieu of flowers donations can be made to Meals on Wheels of Tarrant County at https://mealsonwheels.org. Lois was born to Nicholas N. and Cecilia M. Koerperich in Selden, Kansas on January 18, 1937 and was the youngest of 10 children. She was married to the love of her life, Richard, of 51 years. They lived in Wichita, Kansas until making Texas their home in 1969. She was a loving sister, wife, mother, grandmother, and aunt. Lois was an active member in St. Thomas the Apostle Catholic Church. Lois is survived by children Loiette Dixon, Ron and Cynthia Smith, Kally and Bill Felts, Nick and Mary Ann Smith, Kevin and Melody Smith and Lisa and Danny Lindsey, 18 grandchildren, 25 great grandchildren, sisters, Margaret Reinert and Madonna Willkie, and many nieces and nephews. Lois was preceded in death by her parents, Nicholas and Cecilia Koerperich, husband, Richard Smith, brothers, Clarence, Ernest, Raymond, Leo, Paul, and Eugene Koerperich and sister, Delma Corder. Those honored to serve as pallbearers and honorary pallbearers are Matthew Dixon, Thomas Dixon, Andrew Merrill, Deric Merrill, Heath Smith, Kevin R. Smith, Wiley Lindsey, Coby Felts and, Jesse Gonzalez.
