Marilyn L. (Hoffmeyer) Rankin was born May 22, 1934, to C.H. and Lizzie Hoffmeyer in
Ganado, Texas.
Service: 10:00 a.m., Wednesday, September 24, 2025 at Grace Baptist Church, Fort Worth, Texas.
Interment: 1:00 p.m. Thursday, September 25, 2025 at Captial Parks Cemetery, Pflugerville, Texas
Visitation: 6:00 - 8:00 p.m., Tuesday, September 23, 2025, Biggers Funeral Home.
She married Fred L. Wilhoite and together they had seven children: Henry F. Wilhoite, James E. Wilhoite, Billy D. Wilhoite, David Wilhoite, Jerry Wilhoite, Carolyn (Wilhoite) Malone, Mary Lynn (Wilhoite) Sanders. She was preceded in death by her husband Fred Wilhoite and then she married Louis Rankin.
Marilyn worked in the fiberglass Industry and went to work for the City of Fort Worth, starting in the library and then the water department as a billing clerk where she retired in 2000.
Her hobbies included quilting, sewing, gardening, shopping, traveling, the beach and spending time spoiling her grandchildren.
She was an active member of Grace Baptist Church since 1975 where she worked in the nursery and AWANA's until her death.
Marilyn was preceded in death by husbands, Fred Wilhoite and Louis Rankin; her parents, C.H. and Lizzie Hoffmeyer; brothers, Henry and Johnny Hoffmeyer; Sister, Annie Hoffmeyer; son, Billy Wilhoite; and daughter, Carolyn Wilhoite.
She is survived by her sons, Henry F. Wilhoite and James E. Wilhoite of Fort Worth, David Wilhoite of Arizona, Jerry Wilhoite of Fort Worth; daughter, Mary (Wilhoite) Sanders of Weatherford; grandchildren, Heather Garcia and Family; Haley (Wilhoite) Melendez and children; Amanda Wilhoite and Family; Landon Wilhoite; Tiberius Wilhoite; Lexie Wilhoite; Noelle Wilhoite; Fred Wilhoite; Hannah Wilhoite; Hanna Malone and son; Holly Malone; and James Wilhoite, Jr and wife; and great grandchildren.
