Marvin Winslager, 88, passed from this life on Wednesday, March 11, 2026, surrounded by the love of his family and friends.

Born in Fort Worth, Texas, Marvin was the son of the late Charlie and Mary Winslager. He grew up with a deep appreciation for community, hard work, and good humor—qualities that shaped every chapter of his life.

During the 1970s, Marvin played a key role in keeping the Newark Ballpark running smoothly. He valued sportsmanship and took great pride in teaching local youth the game he loved so dearly. His influence on young ball players left a lasting mark on the community.

Marvin worked as a service technician for Sears for more than 30 years. Even after retiring, he continued helping neighbors and friends by repairing appliances as NW Appliance Repair. His skill, reliability, and friendly nature made him a trusted figure far and wide.

A lifelong member of Newark First Baptist Church, Marvin lived his faith with sincerity and kindness. He enjoyed woodworking, hunting, and fishing, and he never missed an opportunity to share a laugh. Marvin loved people—he was known for his quick wit, warm smile, and the way he made everyone feel welcome.

Marvin was preceded in death by his parents; his brother, Charlie; and his beloved wife, Leila.

He is survived by his daughter, Patricia Meadows and her husband, Mike; his son, Leslie and his wife, DeAnn; five grandsons, Bryan Meadows and wife, Kimberly, Kevin Meadows and wife, Allyson, Joshua Winslager and wife, Kylie, Jacob Winslager and wife, Emily, and John Winslager and wife, Sierra; and his great grandchildren, Dean, Kolby, Hayden, Aubrey, Emery, Kinley, Paisley, Tatum, Kaisley, Kason, Annie, Jenny, Landry, Linda, and Mabel. He also leaves behind his best friend, Shirley Swan.

Marvin's legacy is one of service, laughter, and unwavering love for his family and community. His presence will be deeply missed, but his memory will continue to shine brightly in the hearts of all who knew him.
