Marvin "Sonny" Zimmerman, 82, born and raised in the Bronx, New York, passed away Sunday, February 3, 2013. Service of committal with military honors will be at 10 a.m. Thursday in Dallas-Fort Worth National Cemetery. Visitation will from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, at Biggers Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in his name to any veterans organization of your choice. A Korean War veteran, he served with the U.S. Army, Second Infantry Division. He married Audrey Murphy and together they raised five children. He was a New York Hospital police officer, serving his community until 1983. Later, he and his family moved to Boyd, retiring from the city of North Richland Hills. He was predeceased by his beloved wife, Audrey. He is survived by his children, Susan, Barbara, Wayne, David and Carol; 13 grandchildren; four great-grandchildren.
