Mary Jean Reeves Carver was born June 29, 1949, in Fort Worth, Texas. Throughout her life, her family's path wound through many cities - Houston, Austin, and California before ultimately returning to the place that always felt like home: Fort Worth.

Service: 1:00 p.m., Tuesday, October 28, 2025, Biggers Funeral Chapel.

Interment: Greenwood Memorial Park, following the service.

Visitation: 12 noon, prior to the service.

Faith was the foundation of Mary's life. Both of her grandfathers were Pentecostal ministers, and the rhythm of prayer, perseverance, and grace shaped her from childhood. Born with birth defects that required multiple surgeries, Mary faced adversity early on—but never with fear. Doctors once said she would never walk, yet she not only walked; she danced through life with determination, faith, and quiet courage.

On September 30, 1969, she married the love of her life, Ronald Carver, Sr. They met at Vivian Courtney's restaurant. With a humble beginning, their love grew into a lifelong partnership of over five decades. Together they raised their children with love and laughter, building a home grounded in devotion. Even after Ron's passing just two months ago, their love remains inseparable. Two souls now reunited in eternity.

Mary dedicated many years to nurturing her family. In her early motherhood, she worked in the school cafeteria so she could be close to her children. When they grew older, she carried her strong work ethic into other jobs, always keeping her heart anchored in family.

She loved adventure and the simple joy of seeing the world. Trips to Las Vegas became a cherished tradition with her husband Ron, as did family vacations to Disney. Mary (Mema) found joy in every journey—roller coasters with Garrett, the magic of Mickey with Ronnetta, and the serenity of beaches where she could sit and watch the waves crash against the Pacific shore.

Mary's greatest treasures were her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. Each one was a light in her world, reflecting her legacy of love, kindness, and perseverance.

She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Ronald Lynn Carver, Sr.; her mother, Peggy Ruth Bryant Nelson; her father, George Ellis Reeves; and her sister, Patricia Reeves.

She is survived by her daughter, Ronnetta Nelson and husband, James; her son, Ronnie Carver and wife, Susie; her cherished grandchildren, Garrett Miller and wife, Missy, Victoria Oliva, Erika Oliva, and Tyler Carver; and her great-grandsons, Teddy Miller and Ollie Miller and soon baby Nico; brother, David Reeves; along with numerous nieces, nephews, and friends who were blessed by her love.

Mary lived with unwavering faith, endless love, and a quiet strength that inspired everyone who knew her. Though her voice has fallen silent, her spirit lives on in laughter shared, prayers whispered, and hearts forever changed by her grace.
