Mary Jones Earwood, 73, passed away Saturday, February 14, 2015. Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Thursday in Biggers Funeral Chapel. Interment will be in Poolville Cemetery. Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at Biggers Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Texas Scottish Rite Hospital, 2222 Welborn St., Dallas, Texas 75219. Mary was born November 25, 1941, in Weatherford to Van and Theda Jones and was a lifelong River Oaks resident. She graduated from Castleberry High School in 1959 and was married to Herman D. Earwood on December 23, 1961, in Granbury. She was a charter member of the First Baptist Church of Lakeside and served as the River Oaks Public Library director for 15 years before her retirement in January. She was preceded in death by her father, Van B. Jones. Mary is survived by her husband of 53 years, Herman D. Earwood; sons, Forrest Edward Earwood and wife, Kim, and Anthony Dee Earwood and wife, Stacy; mother, Theda Jones; brother, James Forrest Jones and wife, Donna; grandchildren, Anthony Lane Earwood, Timothy Dale Earwood, Joshua Smith and Justin Smith.
