Mary Orliene (Hagen) Ellis of Saginaw, Texas, went home to her Father in Heaven, Saturday, August 24, 2024.

Visitation: 6:00 – 8:00 p.m., Friday, August 30, 2024, at Biggers Funeral Home, 6100 Azle Avenue, Lake Worth, Texas 76135.

Service: 2:00 p.m., Saturday, August 31, 2024, at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, 300 Ridgecrest Drive, Saginaw, Texas.

There will be a visitation from 1:00 – 1:45 p.m. in the Relief Society room at the church prior to the service on Saturday.

Mary was born and raised in Idaho Falls, Idaho. She graduated Idaho Falls High School and later married her love, Bob Ellis on September 11, 1956, which took her to Salt Lake City, Utah. They in turn moved to Midland, Texas, Lubbock, Texas, Fort Worth, Texas and finally settled in Saginaw in 1972.

In her life she held many positions. Counter of a soda shop, elevator operator, homemaker, in home day care and final 15 years prior to retirement an EMSISD bus driver where she was lovingly referred to as Miss Mary.

Outside of raising her own family of free thinkers, Mary filled her life with service whether it was leading Girl Scouts, running church children's and youth programs or opening her heart and home to foster children.

If Mary could leave one piece of advice it would be "Always Take the Scenic Route".

Mary was preceded in death by her parents, Edward Le Roy Hagen and Mary Grace (Colt) Hagen; brothers, Orvil, Earl and Darrell; sisters, Pauline, Carol and Jean; and son-in-law, Mike Cobb.

She is survived by her younger brother, Robert and wife, Candy; her loving husband of 68 years, Robert W. Ellis and their children, Tina, Kevin and wife, Devon, Cheryl Cobb, Trudie Hawkes and husband, Kenton, Kelly, April Norlem and husband, William; twenty-five grandchildren; forty-four great-grandchildren with two on the way; and one great-great-grandchild. With a recent wedding in June, her family reached 100 in number.
