Mary Jane "MJ" Wyatt punched her ticket for the Heaven Train from a seat in her home after a life of courageously fighting Type One diabetes and heart disease. She was well known for appearing to be standing on the platform waiting for the next train then bouncing back to her life full of family and friends and the one she called Lord. She fought loud and hard to stay here for many years. Not wanting to stop loving her Donnie and her sons, Landon and Cameron and all those littles who called her Sweetie and her huge circle of friends.

MJ's Earth suit Adventure began in Centralia, Illinois when she arrived in the arms of her parents, Darrell and Shirley. Centralia and the Phelps family were forever changed that February morning when the round baby girl with curly hair started her "move over world – your new best friend is in the room" journey.

The Family thought they were getting a boy but instead got a bundle of girl bubbles who would forever bring fun and play and contagious permission to be themselves. The big sisters, Malinda and Melissa braced themselves for the self-proclaimed "Mom's new and forever favorite". Dad spent the rest of his days slowly shaking his head at her energy. And nodding with agreement at anything the little hazel-green eyed girl asked to have or do.

When Mary Jane was 11, the family moved to Bridgeport, Texas where she made fast and forever friends that still run in a loyal pack to this day. In high school MJ got away with brat level pranks and behavior because her Mom, Shirley, was the school secretary. Her friends describe her as "very fun, witty, always laughing, and friends with everyone". She was never without lip-gloss and one of their close guy friends always called her "luscious lips" because of that perpetual shine! Possibly their favorite song was "Cheeseburger in Paradise" by Jimmy Buffett and country music made its way to her heart and stayed with her for always.

After High School, Mary Jane went to Weatherford College. Her Dad called it "The Resort" which makes the rest of the family wonder if she ever attended any classes. Both hysterically and ironically the girl who couldn't even look at an unused band-aid without her gag reflex kicking in, decided she would study to be a medical assistant. A short-lived dream… and she eventually joined the IRS team as a secretary.

MJ worked at the Internal Revenue Service for 33 years. And of course, there she made yet another group of good close friends and worked her way up to a Grade 12 Revenue Officer. She retired from there in 2019 but has never retired from those relationships.

On October 22, 1988, Mary Jane married Clarence Donald "Donnie" Wyatt after meeting him out dancing one night. Their almost 38-year marriage included lots of laughs and lots of hurdles and lots of dogs. But MJ would tell anyone and did tell everyone that her greatest joy and blessing was getting to call Landon and Cameron her sons. She described them as handsome, smart, hardworking and kind. And her face boldly described her deep affection for them. The boys knew their Mom loved them and they described her as a nurturer. Kind, Loving, and Great. A Mom cannot ask for more than that to be said of her.

That is until…. She got grandkids. Then, like most of us, it all became about those babies!

In October of 2004 Mary Jane went on an event called Heart Quest. At Quest the one she called God got a new name and she made him her Lord. He was no longer just a maker and protector and provider. He became personal to her. Became freedom to her. And she spent the next 22 years investing in that truth for women. She wanted everyone to know The Father, The Son, and the Holy Spirit at that level. The proximity to the King Chair that comes with chains of guilt and shame breaking.

Her years serving on Quest made her circle of friends bigger once again. Deep and rich friends that wanted to walk with the Lord and walk with each other. Friends that would love Flamingos and love Jesus and love country music and love the love story called the Bible.

Mary Jane Phelps Wyatt is survived by her husband, Donnie; their two sons, Landon and his bride to be, Lindsay, and Cameron and his girl, Sandra, all of Fort Worth; her two sisters, Malinda Clayborn of Centralia, Illinois and Melissa Phelps of Fort Worth; and those gifts of gold her grandchildren: Maci, Kylie, Isaac, Ethan, Emma, Janie, and Joziah.

MJ described herself as "a wife, mom, Sweetie, sister, and friend". Most Importantly a daughter of the King and Warrior!" Her greatest wish for everyone was to find Jesus and get the freedom that comes from knowing how much he loves you.
