Honoring the Life and Legacy of Master Sgt. (Ret.) Julian Morales

Julian Pablo Morales, a man of immense courage, kindness, and wisdom, peacefully entered the presence of our Heavenly Father Sunday, May 10, 2026. His life was one of service, sacrifice, and deep love, and while we mourn his passing, we celebrate the extraordinary legacy he leaves behind.

Mass: 10:00 a.m., Wednesday, May 20, 2026, Saint Thomas the Apostle Catholic Church

Interment: 2:00 p.m., Wednesday following Mass at Dallas-Fort Worth National Cemetery

Rosary: 6:00 p.m., Tuesday, May 19, 2026, Biggers Funeral Chapel followed by Visitation from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m.

Julian was born, December 7, 1927, in Cuero, to Petra Gamez and Florencio Morales. From a young age, he carried an unshakable strength and resilience that would define his life's journey. On May 1, 1958, he married the love of his life, Anastacia "Ana" Morales, and together they built a home overflowing with faith and love.

A proud patriot, Julian dedicated 25 years of his life to the United States Army, retiring with distinction as a Master Sergeant. He bravely fought in the Korean War, enduring the harrowing trials of being a POW, and later completed three combat tours during the Vietnam War. His unwavering commitment to his country was matched only by his devotion to his family and the values he held dear.

Beyond his military career, Julian was a storyteller at heart. He found beauty in the written word, crafting short stories and poems that reflected the richness of his experiences. He kept his mind sharp with puzzles, books, and crafts, and his spirit full through travel, always seeking new adventures and treasuring time spent with family and friends. His generosity knew no limits—he was a man who helped others without hesitation, treating everyone with the same kindness, dignity, and respect.

Julian was rich, not so much in material wealth, but in the love, he gave and received. He was an artist of many trades, a mentor, and a faithful, God-fearing man whose life was a testament to strength and compassion. His greatest legacy lives on in the lessons and memories he passed down to his children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren: to treat others fairly, love fiercely, and live with integrity. May his stories and adventures continue to inspire us all.

Julian is now reunited in heaven with his beloved daughters, Amalia Morales Plancencia and Idolina Morales Ortuno; his parents, Petra Gamez and Florencio Morales; and Lydia and Crecencio Rodriguez.

He leaves behind a family who adored him: his wife, Ana; his daughters, Mercedes Espinoza, Esmeralda Gonzales, Elsa Gonzales, Edelia Sanchez, Stephanie Silvas, and Heather Morales; his siblings; grandchildren; great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends who will forever cherish his memory.

Though his voice is no longer with us, his stories, his kindness, and his unwavering love will live on in the hearts of all who knew him. His was a life well lived, and his impact will never fade.
