Maxann Weeks , 67, of Lakeside, TX, peacefully left this world on August 6, 2023, surrounded by her loving family, leaving behind a legacy filled with warmth, wisdom, and undeniable spirit.

Born to the late Lloyd and Marian Lewis in Hobbs, New Mexico on June 9, 1956, Maxann, or "Maxie," as affectionately known, grew up in a home filled with Christian faith and love. Her marriage to Shane Weeks, spanning 33 beautiful years, was an extraordinary symbol of unwavering devotion and love, right up to her sudden departure from this life.

An avid lover of animals, especially cats, Maxie bestowed upon each a name as special as her own personality. Living life unapologetically and with fierce individuality, she became a beacon of loyalty, compassion, and strength. Her love for horse racing brought joy to many, as she effortlessly picked winners, often betting on behalf of her friends. Her generosity knew no bounds, and her home was often filled with the soul-stirring sounds of Christian worship music.

Maxie's unique blend of humor and assertiveness often led to quick, witty, and comical responses. She approached life with a strategic mind, much like a game of chess, leading her to success as an entrepreneur with her business, Signs By Max.

Her unwavering faith in Jesus Christ guided her in all she did, from her extraordinary care for her father in his final days to her practice of generously tipping beyond expectations. Her habit of asking, "What's the biggest tip you've ever been given?" will long be remembered.

Maxie is survived by her devoted husband, Shane; her loving children, Lauren Edwards and Shyann Weeks; cherished grandchildren Kadence, Foxx, Braden, Michael, and extended family Samuel, Erica, and son in law Eric as well as many others.

An extraordinary detail of Maxie's life lies in her daily prayer with Shane: The Lord's Prayer, starting with Matthew 6:9—ironically the same numbers as her birthdate. Her fascination with the significance of numbers allows us to embrace this scripture as a tribute to her wonderful soul. As Maxie joins Jesus, we find solace in knowing that while her departure is our loss, it is unquestionably heaven's gain.
