Born on April 13, 1954, in Corpus Christi, Texas, Melissa lived a life marked by openness and a deep commitment to her community.
Melissa was the person who opened her door and heart to anyone in need, a testament to her nurturing and inclusive spirit. A long-time resident of Azle, she treated everyone as part of her extended family, affectionately considering them her "kids." Melissa relished any opportunity to celebrate the achievements of those around her, making her home a hub of joy and togetherness. Her dedication to her family, home, and friends was unwavering, and she will be remembered for her generous and loving nature.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Troy E. Nichols Jr. and Juanita Esther Smith.
She is survived by her partner of over 40 years, Glenn R. Heath III; her children, Jason P. Moss of England, and Stella M. Ballard of Sanger; stepchildren, Shelly L. Heath, and Kenneth J. Heath (Kim); and numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Melissa also leaves behind her siblings, Vickie Bente of Alvin, TX, Dee Havens of Georgia, Sandy Rose of Darby, MT, Molly Doskocil of Hurst, TX, and Kirby Nichols of Fort Worth, TX.
