Merilyne Fae McGee, a cherished member of the Fort Worth community, passed away on Thursday, June 11, 2026, in Fort Worth, Texas.

Visitation: 6:00 – 8:00 p.m., Thursday, June 18, 2026, at Biggers Funeral Home.

She was born on August 18, 1949, to DoraFae Collins and John Herbert McGee. The McGee family moved to Lake Worth in 1959, and it became the place she called home for the rest of her life. In that same year, they bought their first horse, sparking a lifelong love for animals. At the age of 23, in 1972, Merilyne bought her own horse and cared for it until it passed away in 1994 at the age of 29, then in 1996 bought her second horse and kept it until 2022 and it passed away at the age of 36. Throughout her years, she showed great kindness to animals and embraced the companionship of several dogs.

Merilyne had a passion for gardening and spent countless hours tending to her yard and nurturing a variety of beautiful flowers. She also enjoyed crocheting, a hobby that brought her joy and creativity.

One of her delightful quirks was painting her nails in festive designs, opting for candy corn during Halloween and Christmas-themed art during the holiday season. Dressing up for special occasions was something she loved. Whether it was donning a WWII victory dress for the Mecham Field Vintage Fly Museum big band dance or showcasing her festive attire at the Fort Worth Stock Show, Merilyne always embraced the spirit of celebration.

She also contributed to the Fort Worth Stock Show Calf Scramble Scholarship Fund, demonstrating her commitment to the community. For over 40 years, residents of Lake Worth would often spot her driving around town in her beloved blue and white 1963 Chevy pickup. Wednesday nights were reserved for her favorite spot—Arizola's Mexican Restaurant—where she enjoyed good food and great company.

Merilyne dedicated 38 years of her career to General Dynamics and Elbit Systems, where she forged many lifelong friendships.

She is survived by her brother, Louis and wife, Mary; sister, Janetta; many cousins and lifelong friends; last but not lease her furr babies, Cody Bill, Calamity Jane and many cats.

She will be remembered for her warmth, vibrant spirit, and dedication to family, friends, and her community. Merilyne Fae McGee leaves behind a legacy of love and kindness that will be cherished by all who knew her.
