Michael Ray Hatfield, 70, of Fort Worth, Texas, passed away peacefully into the arms of Jesus on Tuesday, April 2, 2024. He was born on June 4, 1953, in Tulsa, Oklahoma.

Memorial Service Celebrating Mike's Life: 3:00 pm, Saturday, April 6, 2024, Ash Creek Baptist Church, 300 South Stewart Street, Azle, Texas 76020.

Mike was raised by his beloved grandparents, Bernard and Mary Elisabeth Hamilton, on a dairy farm in Chouteau, Oklahoma, where they instilled in him the value of hard work and dedication through tasks like milking cows and baling hay. They also supported his interest in Boy Scouts, helping him earn the rank of Eagle Scout.  Growing up attending the local Methodist church with his grandparents, Mike developed a strong faith that he carried with him throughout his life. He relied on God for courage and strength during the last few months of his life when he was hospitalized repeatedly.

Mike graduated from Chouteau High School, then went on to earn a bachelor's degree in political science from Oklahoma State University.

Mike and his former spouse, Kathy, raised three daughters together. He loved them and was proud of their accomplishments

Mike was a dedicated individual who excelled in his career. He worked in restaurant management from 1975 to 1998 before transitioning to a POS support position at El Chico's corporate office. In 2009, he joined Radiant Systems/NCR as a software analyst until his retirement in 2023. Known for his passion for assisting customers and colleagues, Mike was always ready to lend a helping hand and find solutions to challenges.

Mike and Melissa met through a mutual friend in 2011 and were married in 2013. He was constantly by her side, supporting and encouraging her with career and personal endeavors throughout their marriage. Mike was an avid science fiction fan, especially all things Star Wars. He also enjoyed photography, watching college sports, playing table games with family, and spending time with their two dogs, Bella and Maisy.

Mike was preceded in death by his mother and grandparents.

He is survived by his wife Melissa Hatfield; three daughters, Lacey, Holly, Wendy and their mother, Kathy; brother, Gary D. Hatfield and wife, Melita; brother, David W. Hatfield; niece, Rebecca Groebe and husband, Robert, and their daughter, Grace; niece, Meghan Hollingworth and husband, Garrett, and their daughters, Emma and Rosie.

Mike is remembered by his family and friends for his personal attentiveness to their needs, his generous and kind heart, and for his quick wit that kept everyone smiling!
