Michael D. "Bird" Patterson, 63, passed away Thursday, August 31, 2017 in Fort Worth. Mike Patterson was a native of Fort Worth, born on Sunday, May 16, 1954. He was one of six children born of the late, Saint Paul and Virginia Estelle (Thomas) Patterson. He grew up in the River Oaks area and attended school in the Castleberry ISD. Mike married in 1987 to his wife, Judy. He spent most all his life in residential construction and was a roofer. He loved playing with all his grandchildren and he enjoyed working on cars and playing the guitar. He is survived by his wife, Judy; son, Brian Hopkins; step-sons, Cody and Brian Adams; sisters, JoAnn Carlile, Alicia Cockran; brothers, Paul and JD Patterson; grandchildren, Nicholas, Brian, Brittany, Amanda, Dillon, Cody and Emily; uncle, Robert Thomas; aunt, Tootsie Rogers; many nieces, nephews and cousins; and his four-legged children, Mati and Sara.
